We haven’t seen much from Alien: Covenant since the red band trailer dropped late last year and a few photos here and there. But today brings a brand new photo of the colony ship’s crew (and a guest cameo), which finds everyone smiley and free of danger.

You know with a new Alien movie there’s little time for smiles and posing for photos, and you can expect things will get real bloody in this film. Last December I saw a few scenes from the upcoming second chapter in the Prometheus prequels, and they were intense. The first trailer gave a glimpse at some of that, and a taste of Amy Seimetz-as-action-hero (yes please!).

The new photo finds the whole crew taking a break before things get messy. Katherine Waterston’s Daniels and Michael Fassbender’s new android Walter stand at the front of the crew in the new photo. The rest of the cast includes Seimetz, Billy Crudup, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandes, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby. But wait, that’s not everyone. Who’s that dude standing in the middle cozying up with a blanket over his shoulders looking a lot like James Franco? It is indeed James Franco in a still-mysterious role. Here’s the film’s full synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with Alien: Covenant, a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

The new photo also came with the announcement that a new speak peek of the film will arrive tomorrow. The footage will debut during the new episode of FX’s Legion on Wednesday. Be sure to check back when we share the new footage, which will hopefully give us a look at the havoc the new xenomorphs are about to wreak on the Covenant crew. The new film hits theaters May 19.
