The cast of Ridley Scott’s new Alien prequel just keeps growing — and getting more interesting, but for as much as we like the actors signing on for Alien: Covenant, it’s going to be kind of a bummer watching them get slaughtered by Xenomorphs and also, presumably, Michael Fassbender. The latest batch of actors to join the cast of Scott’s prequel includes Spotlight’s Billy Crudup, Empire’s Jussie Smollett, indie favorite Amy Seimetz and more.

Per Deadline, Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and Callie Hernandez (La La Land) have joined Seimetz and Smollett in the lineup for Scott’s latest Alien prequel. In a separate update, the site adds that Crudup has also joined the cast in an unspecified role.

Scott is prepping production on Alien: Covenant, which centers on a new derelict crew that happens upon a seemingly uncharted paradise, only to make the unnerving discovery that Fassbender’s synthetic David is the planet’s only inhabitant. Katherine Waterston will command the new crew for Covenant, which also stars Danny McBride and Demian Bichir.

Crudup most recently appeared in Spotlight and The Stanford Prison Experiment, while Smollett plays Jamal Lyon on FOX’s hit series Empire. Seimetz is known for roles in Upstream Color, You’re Next and The Sacrament, and serves as producer and director on Starz’s upcoming series The Girlfriend Experience.

Alien: Covenant hits theaters on October 6, 2017.
