Best Actress at the 2014 Oscars went to Cate Blanchett for her role in 'Blue Jasmine' - a win many saw coming as the actress pretty much swept all the awards leading up to this point. But, whether you saw it coming or not, it was a win that was very much deserved.

Though 'Blue Jasmine' came out last July, Oscar voters never forgot Blanchett's remarkable performance as Jasmine, nor did they seem to be influenced by the very public allegations of sexual abuse against director Woody Allen.

Blanchett beat out Amy Adams ('American Hustle'), Meryl Streep ('August: Osage County'), Judi Dench ('Philomena') and Sandra Bullock ('Gravity') for the trophy.

This was Blanchett's fifth Oscar nomination and her second win after 2005's Best Supporting Actress win for 'The Aviator.'
