Christopher Nolan likes to keep secrets. So it should come as no surprise to you that Warner Bros. has announced Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie with absolutely no details. But, we do know when you will be able to see it, so you can mark your calendars now for the next mysterious Christopher Nolan film and start wondering what the hell it will all be about.

Warner Bros. has officially set a July 21, 2017 release date for the next Christopher Nolan project and that’s literally all they’ll tell us. We have no idea what genre the film will be (slapstick comedy?), who will star (Vin Diesel?) or really anything else. But, let’s please all hold out hope that it IS a slapstick comedy starring Vin Diesel.

The studio had previously offered Nolan Ready Player One, an adaptation of Ernest Cline’s bestselling novel, but Nolan turned it down (it will instead be directed by Steven Spielberg, so not exactly a loss for WB). Earlier this summer it was reported that Nolan had completed a “comprehensive draft” of his next script. Whatever it is, you can be Michael Caine will be involved.

July 21, 2017 puts Untitled Christopher Nolan/Vin Diesel Comedy smack dab between Marvel’s next Spider-Man movie and War of the Planet of the Apes. If you absolutely, positively cannot wait until 2017, you can get a taste of Nolan — albeit in the form of a documentary short — with Quay, which comes out on Blu-ray on October 20.
