The Comic-Con 2013 news has begun to slowly seep in. It's now officially less than a month from kicking off (yikes!), you can expect that trickle to turn into a downpour any day now. And here's a nice morsel that should whet your appetite: 'The Walking Dead' will be back in San Diego this year! We mean that literally - the zombies are taking over, and you can either try to escape them or be one of them!

As was the case last year, San Diego's Petco Park (which is where the Padres play ball) will be turned into a haven for the undead at night. On July 19-20, from 5pm to 10pm, "The Walking Dead Escape" opens up: a zombie obstacle course where you can either try to outrun the vicious walkers on your tail or be a walker yourself (complete with make-up) and attempt to feast. If you're not into either option, you can be a spectator and watch from the safety of the sidelines.

Some fun tidbits about the course:

  • The average time of completion is 35-45 minutes.
  • The Walking Dead Escape is not a race. No one is timed, and you are not required to run, but the slow usually die for a reason.
  • Be prepared to climb, crawl, and slide.
  • Depending on the encountered Walker, you may need to move briskly or lightly jog in an effort to avoid infection.
