Over the weekend 'Community' creator and ousted showrunner Dan Harmon more or less officially confirmed that he would return for the series for its upcoming fifth (and potentially final) season, though not all of the details have been firmly hammered out. In taking about the development however, Harmon revealed that he might controversially record a commentary track for the season 4 DVD, as he staffs up for the new season!

'Community' fans had their hearts set aflutter when Dan Harmon confirmed his return to the series that previously thrived under his voice, but Harmon may not prove so gracious about the return when it comes time for the season 4 DVD. Somewhat joking at a recent L.A. Silent Movie Theatre event, Harmon explained to fans that he had yet to watch replacement showrunners Moses Port and David Guarascio's work in season 4 but may do so at Sony TV's instruction:

"Sony said they’re very interested in recording me watching it as a commentary track for the season four DVD set," said Harmon. Asked if the track could also include his facial reactions to watching, Harmon added, "I think I can do anything. It would move season four DVDs, for sure. But I’ll be checking it out soon, and then I’ll figure out what we’re doing for season five."

And while fans celebrated Harmon's 'Community' return alongside former lieutenant Chris McKenna, Harmon jokingly pointed out that few writers were left available for the new staff after the current year's development season. “If any of you are a midlevel writer who doesn’t work for 'Parks and Rec,' let me know that you exist and I would love to hire you...this city has been picked clean by every show already, and right now we have to put a staff together. So see me after the show. And it pays -- I don’t know -- 25 grand a week or something like that."

It remains to be seen how 'Community' will piece together its fifth season and land on the NBC schedule, currently slated for midseason, but what say you? Would you be interested to hear what Dan Harmon has to say on 'Community' season 4, or should his efforts stay focused on season 5?
