Just a few weeks ago, we got our first official look at Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming ‘Crimson Peak’ via a photo of Jessica Chastain looking very romantically gothic. Today brings another look at the spooky horror flick with a photo of Tom Hiddleston. But he’s not the only interesting part of the photo—just take a gander at this huge, beautiful set. Can we get a trailer for this thing already?

The new image premiered in Empire and was picked up by Collider, who also posted what appear to be magazine scans featuring another version of the Hiddleston photo, along with Mia Wasikowska, looking very era appropriate in a gorgeous Victorian dress and carrying a candelabra.

You can view a larger version of the Hiddleston photo below, with the actor standing in what appears to be the main entryway of the elaborately designed house. The details are quite stunning, from the ornate bannisters and balcony, to the inlays in the walls—there’s even dust on the floor. Based on the aesthetic we’ve glimpsed in these sneak peeks, we’re already in love with ‘Crimson Peak.’

We don’t have a trailer just yet, but with the arrival of these photos in recent weeks, we’re guessing it could happen in the next month or so. The film has been described as a romantic gothic ghost story, and Empire posted this new description along with the photos:

A young woman (Wasikowska) is swept off by her feet by a charismatic suitor (Hiddleston) and taken back to his ancestral home.  There she finds more than she bargained for, including a jealous sister (Chastain) and more than a few skeletons in the closet.

We wonder what those “skeletons” might be. (Maybe actual skeletons?) Here’s the official synopsis, which expands on the plot:

Legendary Pictures’ CRIMSON PEAK, a co-production with Universal Pictures, is a haunting gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy series, Pacific Rim), written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins and starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam.  In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider.  Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds … and remembers.

That sounds like it has the potential to be absolutely chilling. ‘Crimson Peak’ hits theaters and IMAX on October 16.
