We're getting excited for the remake of 'Evil Dead' around here -- the first trailer was intense and more brutal than we expected, and this stylish new poster hits our sweet spot, but can the film live up to the promise made on the poster?

Yahoo! Movies posted the first official poster for 'Evil Dead,' which promises, "The most terrifying film you will ever experience." Really? That's some serious hyperbole right there, and we want to believe it. They are selling it and we are so buying it. We're loving the hell out of this poster, featuring a female character stumbling down the road, shot from behind and de-saturated, with a retro-style logo at the bottom that calls to mind the original film's text.

'Evil Dead' follows a group of friends who head off into a cabin in the woods (dummies) to help their friend Mia, who's struggling with sobriety. While there, they uncover the Book of the Dead and, as you can imagine, things don't go so well. It's probably best not to visit weird cabins and start playing with a scary old book labeled "Of the Dead."

The film stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore. It was directed by Fede Alvarez and features some script work from Diablo Cody.

And we'll just see if the movie lives up to the hype of the poster when it hits theaters on April 12, 2013.
