There was no new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens at this year’s Star Wars Comic-Con panel. Nor was there any exclusive footage or scenes from the film. But there was a short behind-the-scenes video so full of magic and wonder that it’s hard to watch without getting a little misty-eyed. Excuse us, but it’s getting a little dusty in here.

Like the panel itself, this video revolves around the physicality of the film’s set. Sure, there are green screens. But there are also lavish sets, real locations, and more alien make-up and puppets than you can possibly imagine. When someone speaks in this footage, whether they be a key member of the crew or a guy playing a Stormtrooper, it’s with total awe. There is more joy in these three minutes than there are in the entirety of the prequels. Yeah, we could be getting suckered by exceptional marketing, but we’re choosing to have a little hope. A new hope, if you will.

The footage does supply a few new snippets. There are a few new shots of Harrison Ford as an aged (but still badass) Han Solo, our first look at Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia (who is apparently a General now), and, most importantly, a close-up of Nien Nunb, making his triumphant return to the Star Wars universe. Oh, and there’s Simon Pegg in some kind of alien costume, confirming the rumors that he will make a cameo of some kind.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18, 2015. Someone bring us a time machine, please.
