‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Director of Photography Shares Some Wonderful Set Photos
Are we done talking about Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet? Nope! Not when the film’s director of photography is sharing such wonderful photos from behind the scenes of what is set to overtake Avatar as the highest-grossing film of all time. From Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca just chilling on set to shots of Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren’s big battle, Dan Mindel’s Instagram photos offer a very different yet no less remarkable angle on J.J. Mindel has been posting these delightful set photos to his Instagram account over the last week or so (via Star Wars News), and they’re so great that I wish Lucasfilm had released these as the official behind-the-scenes photos instead of the shots we’ve seen in publications like Empire and Entertainment Weekly. Mindel’s photos offer a different perspective on the typical, polished set photo — of particular note are the shots of Kylo Ren mid-battle in the snow, Chewbacca hanging out in what appears to be the set’s video village, and neat photos of trooper helmets and BB-8:
You can check out even more set photos on Mindel’s Instagram account, which is — as you can see above — well worth a few clicks.
