FOX Releases ‘Axe Cop’ Voice Cast, Sets Saturday Animation Domination HD Premiere
A few months ago we heard the glorious news that FOX would take acclaimed Dark Horse and web comic 'Axe Cop' to series as part of a summer Saturday Animation Domination HD block, followed by the even more face-cleavingly incredible news that 'Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman would take the title role. Now, FOX has issued the fully, star-studded cast list for 'Axe Cop,' as well as rosters and premieres for its new summer animation block! Find out who joins Nick Offerman as 'Axe Cop' inside!
Just when we thought the casting of Ron Swanson himself, Nick Offerman as FOX's 'Axe Cop couldn't get any better, we've learned that the star will be joined by Offerman's wife Megan Mullally, Patton Oswalt, Ken Marino, Peter Serafinowicz and guest stars such as 'Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito and Jonathan Banks, rapper "Tyler, The Creator," Rob Huebel, and 'Community' creator Dan Harmon.
FOX has announced that 'Axe Cop' will debut along with 'High School USA!' and an untitled project from Kenny and Keith Lucas debut on Saturday, July 27 from 11:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Each series will run at fifteen minutes each, FOX initially committed to six episode apiece. It remains unknown for the moment what will fill the other 45 minutes of the weekly block.
'Axe Cop' chronicles the adventures of an axe-wielding police officer and his array of sidekicks, was created in 2010 by then 5 year-old Malachai Nicolle, who supplies the stories and ideas for the comics as his adult brother Ethan Nicolle illustrates.
Written by former 'Community' writer Dino Stamatopoulos (Starburns), 'High School USA!' follows “super-positive, millennial students [confronting] all the unique challenges of growing up in a modern world," and features the vocal talents of 'Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser and singer Mandy Moore. The as-yet-untitled Lucas Brothers series is said to revolve around the brothers themselves as they inherit their uncle's old van and start a moving company.
