First ‘Fringe’ Season 5 Pics Will Ruin Your Picnic

It's bittersweet to think that this will be the last opportunity we have to follow 'Fringe' as it gears up for a new season, what with the 13-episode season 5 run confirmed to be the last by all involved.  We've gotten an inkling of what direction the the final season of 'Fringe' will take, but where exactly do things begin?  The latest set photos may just have your answer...

'Fringe' fans are in for quite a trip in the shows final season, as the narrative shifts toward the Observer-dominated future of 2036, first glimpsed in season 4 episode "Letters of Transit."  Still, 2036 is a long way to go, and 'Fringe' only has 13 episodes to take us back into the fight!  So while we've heard rumblings that the series would pick up in the future, and slowly piece together the years before it, when does the world start going to Hell?

Judging by the first set photos of 'Fringe' season 5, a few years will have likely passed between season 4 and the premiere.  Whereas "Brave New World, Part 2" first reveals Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) to be pregnant with Peter Dunham (Joshua Jackson)'s child, the first photos of season 5 seem to depict a 5-6 year old Henrietta, enjoying a peaceful day at the park with her parents.  Just then, The Observers arrive to ruin the day!

Whether this is the first true invasion of The Observers, or  a simple surge in their reign remains to be seen, but either way things don't look too good for the Fringe team, who will eventually find themselves resting in amber until 2036.
