Microsoft and 343 Industries announced a new collection of add-ons, dubbed the Champions bundle, would be coming to Halo 4 on Aug. 20.

Available later next month, the Champions bundle will feature three different content packs (Bullseye, Infinity Armor, Steel Skin) all for $10 (800MSP). Each of the three packs will also be offered on their own, with Bullseye costing $6 (480MSP) and the Infinity Armor and Steel Skin packs costing $3 (240MSP) each.

The Bullseye pack is the beefiest of the three, as it includes two new maps and a new game mode. Pitfall is a modern remake of the Halo 3's The Pit map, and Vertigo is an all-new battleground with some sort of massive electric machine. Ricochet is the new mode, is a 5v5 game where players will be tasked with putting a ball through the opponent's goal. New weapon skins and armor will be in the other two packs, including Prefect, Mark V and ODST sets.

Ricochet will not be available to anyone else but those who purchase the pack for the first two weeks. After that, it will be playable in matchmaking by anyone. The Champions bundle is not part of the Halo 4 season pass, which is a bit of an odd move, but is certainly a tactic we've seen from other developers and publishers before. You can see the new maps, modes and armors in action in the footage above, and in some screenshots below.
