Hulk Hogan Removed From WWE 2K16 Game, Replaced With…The Terminator?
As the world remains shocked by WWE severing ties with Hulk Hogan due to some found footage of him dropping some horrific and racist remarks, 2K Games has released a new trailer for WWE 2K16. While I was expecting someone like Bruno Sammartino or Jake "The Snake" Roberts as the game's pre-order bonus character, I certainly was not expecting Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to his iconic role. That's right — Arnie is back to play the T-800 model Terminator as the pre-order bonus character for WWE 2K16. The Running Man proves in this Terminator 2: Judgment Day replica trailer that he'll fit right in among the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton.
Due to Hulk Hogan's racist fiasco, his character, which defined pro wrestling throughout the '80s and early '90s, has been removed from WWE 2K16's official roster. Likewise, WWE 2K15's Hulk Hogan DLC has been removed as well, which is a shame because the Collector's Edition of last year's game was Hogan-oriented and had some exclusive content that we'll likely never be able to download again. Nevertheless, WWE 2K16 is going to feature over 120 wrestlers at launch, and this trailer pretty much confirms that Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Eva Marie, Paige, and NXT champion Finn Balor will be in the game. Here's to hoping they include Kevin Owens.
WWE 2K16 will debut on Oct. 27 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
