Even though earlier today we heard the news that ABC would likely air the remaining episodes of 'Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23' this summer, after pulling the show from their lineup and effectively cancelling the series, the show's stars have wasted little time in finding new work. Not only has Krysten Ritter join NBC's Will Ferrell / Adam McKay-produced "Assistance," but now Dawson himself, James Van Der Beek will land on CBS as a gynecologist for 'Friends With Better Lives!'

The effective cancellation of ABC's 'Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23' disappointed plenty of fans, but doesn't seem to have slowed things down for its stars. Outlets are reporting that one-time 'Dawson's Creek' star and recent 'How I Met Your Mother' guest James Van Der Beek will next move to CBS, taking a leading role in 'Friends' writer-producer Dana Klein's CBS pilot 'Friends With Better Lives.'

Following a group of thirty-something friends who each think the other has it better, 'Friends With Better Lives' will feature Van Der Beek in the role of Will Stokes, a partner in the gynecology practice at the center of the series. The character is observed to be smart, sarcastic and cynical, particularly after learning his wife cheated on him with his therapist. Will is known as a creature of habit who expects the worst from everyone and everything.

Well, what say you? Are you glad James Van Der Beek seems to have landed on his feet after the unfortunate cancellation of 'Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23?' Where would you like to see the stars next?
