It was first reported two weeks ago that Jessica Chastain had been offered a role in 'Iron Man 3,' and now it looks as if the stunning Oscar nominee has made her decision on appearing in the film. And?

Sadly, it seems that Chastain will not join fellow redhead Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie, which begins shooting in North Carolina this month. In a post at what appears to be Chastain's Facebook page -- and it does look legit -- the actress has written that she won't be in the movie due to scheduling conflicts. Here is her complete post:

"Sorry to say that Iron Man 3 isn't going to work out. My schedule is jammed packed and I can't fit anything else in. The press announced my possible attachment far too soon. I know many of you wanted me to be involved, and I'm so sorry to disappoint you. Hopefully there'll be another Marvel film in my future. Shane Black and everyone on the IM3 team are really wonderful. I'm very excited to see the film when it comes out. xx"

That's a bummer for those of us who admire this very talented actress, although we also congratulate her on being so busy that she can't fit what is sure to be one of 2013's biggest films into her schedule.

Meanwhile, Marvel now has to find another actress to play the "sexy scientist" that that they had pegged for Chastain, so expect an announcement soon. Whoever gets the part will join Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and, of course, old Shellhead himself, Robert Downey Jr., in the first Marvel movie to follow up 'The Avengers.'
