Dwayne Johnson Reveals ‘Central Intelligence’ First Look, Describes Character’s ‘Big’ Inspiration
Casting Dwayne Johnson or Kevin Hart in a movie is a surefire way of guaranteeing butts in theater seats. But what happens when you cast both of them in the same movie? We’ll find out soon enough when the new action comedy Central Intelligence arrives in theaters, but until then, enjoy your first sneak peek at the film courtesy of Johnson himself.
Johnson posted the first photo from the film to his Instagram account, and had a very interesting description for his character:
The actor is very thorough in that description, and it’s hard not to get excited for the film when Johnson is this enthusiastic and dedicated. That’s just part of his endless charm. He’s sure to be extra charming in Central Intelligence, in which he plays an endearing, overgrown man-child who just happens to be a valuable genius working for the CIA.
Central Intelligence stars Johnson as a former high school loser turned CIA operative who returns home for his class reunion, where he enlists the help of Kevin Hart’s character — a former high school sports star — in a classified CIA mission.
The film also stars Amy Ryan as a fellow CIA operative, and was directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (We’re the Millers) from a script by Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen. Sean Anders and John Morris (We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses 2) wrote the second draft, with Thurber doing additional work on a third. That’s a lot of funny people involved in Central Intelligence, which hits theaters on June 17, 2016.
