Though he was up against some stiff competition - including Ryan Gosling and Daniel Radcliffe - 'Hunger Games' star Josh Hutcherson won Best Male Performance at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

Though he might not be the household name that either Gosling, Radcliffe, Channing Tatum or Joseph Gordon-Levitt are, Josh Hutcherson won the Best Male Performance award for his performance as Peeta in 'The Hunger Games.'

Hutcherson accepted the award from the stars of 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' including 'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson.

Hutcherson said he had always wanted to win a MTV Movie Award (the Golden Popcorn) since he was four-years-old (they've been around that long?!) and seemed truly appreciative of the award.  He thanked the fans and author Suzanne Collins for creating the franchise.

Do you think Hutcherson deserved the prize?
