With its release only a few weeks away, 'Kick-Ass 2''s marketing machine has shifted into high gear with the release of four new NSFW clips from the film. Although the sequel sees original director Matthew Vaughn replaced by Jeff Wadlow, fans of the first film will probably be happy to see that this looks to be very much in line with its predecessor. As for people who didn't like the first film ... well, you should know better.

The clips spread the love around the film's ensemble, giving Aaron Johnson's Kick-Ass, Chloe Mortez's Hit-Girl, Christopher Mintz-Plasse's (not nameable in case kids are reading) villain and other members of the ensemble a moment in the spotlight. The actual contents of the clips include everything you'd expect from a movie with the 'Kick-Ass' label: extreme violence, foul language and more offense than you can shake a bloody severed limb at.

It'll be interesting to watch how the public at large reacts to 'Kick-Ass 2.' The first film did modest business but built a strong following on DVD. Can the sequel bring out the new fans? After all, there is a third (and final) Kick-Ass comic series being published at the moment ... and you know that Universal wants to adapt it.

'Kick-Ass 2' arrives in theaters on August 16, 2013. You probably shouldn't bring the kids.
