'Looper' director Rian Johnson is one swell guy. He recorded a special audio commentary for the film that you don't have to wait until the DVD to listen to. You can actually download, take it with you to the theater and listen on your iPod. How thoughtful!

Rian Johnson posted a full-length commentary track for 'Looper' on his Tumblr that fans can download and take with them to the theater. Just make sure you keep your iPod or other dark and in your pocket so as not to disturb your seat-neighbors, as Johnson courteously reminds us in this post:

I recorded a commentary track to be downloaded, put on an ipod and listened to in the theater as you’re watching Looper.  This is an odd thing I tried with Bloom, and have gotten a few requests for it again, so here it is.  It is totally different from the commentary track that will be on the Blu/DVD, a bit more technical and detailed.  Needless to say, this is NOT to be listened to on a first viewing, or before you’ve seen the film.  Also, please work it so that a glowing screening is never out of your pocket during the movie.

Listen to the introduction before heading to the theater, it has instructions.  And lemme know how it works.

As Johnson notes, he also did this for 'The Brothers Bloom,' and we think it's a really cool idea. We wish more filmmakers would embrace it! You can download the audio commentary track here.
