When you have a breakout role, like Melissa McCarthy did in 'Bridesmaids,' it means they're going to throw a lot of cameos and supporting roles at you (it helps that McCarthy was Oscar nominated for her work). Now it looks like the people behind 'The Hangover Part 3' want her for a small role in their movie.

This comes from Variety, who note the tenuousness of the deal. McCarthy is in demand right now, besides starring in the show 'Mike & Molly,' she's got upcoming roles is Judd Apatow's 'This is 40,' the Seth Gordon film 'Identity Thief', and 'The Heat' where she'll be playing a buddy cop with Sandra Bullock.

And it's also possible - given the franchise's track record - that her role in 'The Hangover Part III,' might be shrill and underwritten. It also seems just as likely that the third film (which may be the last in the series, but at the rate they've been making money, never say never) that she would be the love interest for Zach Galifianakis's character. Both are totally plausible. But considering the secrecy in which director Todd Phillips has gone about the sequels in this franchise, we may not know until the film is released.
