Recent weeks brought the monumental 'New Girl' news that displaced 'Happy Endings' star Damon Wayans, Jr. would reprise his pilot role as "Coach" for a major season 3 arc, but Wayans won't be the only fan-favorite guest star to return. Season 3 of FOX's quirky hit will also return 'Nurse Jackie' star Merritt Wever to the fold as her character Elizabeth, but for how long?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Wever will return for a grand total of two episodes. Response to the character had been positive, grounding the typically shallow Schmidt (Max Greenfield) with a return to his less conventionally attractive college girlfriend, but, given that season 2 finale "Elaine's Big Day" saw Schmidt literally run away rather than decide between Elizabeth and Cece (Hannah Simone), we're not too surprised to see Wever back for such a short span of time.

Regardless of her 'New Girl' availability, Wever also has a full-time role in Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie' to deal with, one which was renewed for a sixth season this past spring. Not to mention, 'New Girl''s well-documented habit of parading guest stars around would suggest that Wayans and Wever are only the tip of the iceberg for when the show returns this fall.

Well, what say you? Are you excited to see 'New Girl' season 3 kick off with so many familiar faces? Who would you like to see join the oddball Zooey Deschanel series?
