‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 2: Meet Mulan!

With the premiere of 'Once Upon A Time' season 2 only weeks away, it's high time we catch a glimpse of any one of the numerous Disney and fairy tale characters to make their way through Storybrooke in its sophomore year.  We'd already heard about the numerous additions from the catalog of Disney princesses, but how would you like to see one in action?  Is Princess Mulan ready to do battle in live-action for the first time?

In advance of 'Once Upon A Time's second season, set to begin on September 30, TVGuide has managed to slice up the first look at Jamie Chung's Princess Mulan in action!  A far cry from any dainty old Chung's Mulan comes battle-ready outfitted in the armor of her culture.  Says the actress of her character's role in the second season:

I go on a journey with Prince Phillip to find his princess, Aurora. There's this evil spirit that's moving and my character ends up bonding with Sleeping Beauty. And as you've heard, Captain Hook is joining us.

Chung especially teased the probability that her character might come to blows with Captain Hook (played by ‘The Tudors’ star Colin O’Donoghue), saying "If you compare the size and length of my sword to his hook, who do you think has the longer reach?"  Initially introduced to American audiences in an earlier rendition of MTV's 'The Real World,' Chung has since become known as an excellent martial arts performer, working in the likes of 'Dragon Ball: Evolution' and ABC Family's 'Samurai Girl.'

Chung's Mulan joins a long list of classic fable characters to be introduced over the course of ‘Once Upon A Time’s sophomore year, the majority based on Disney characters, including Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Aladdin and the villainous Jafar.
