‘Pacific Rim’ Wins for Best Action Scene of 2013 in 2nd Annual Fan Choice Awards

The fans have spoken! The polls for ScreenCrush’s 2nd Annual Fan Choice Awards are officially closed, and when it comes to the Best Action Scene of 2013, Gipsy Danger's brawl with the monstrous Kaiju was a must-see for movie fans.

The nominees for the 2nd Annual Fan Choice Awards were curated by ScreenCrush’s trusty editors, and the winners were chosen by movie and TV fans in a lengthy voting period that began on January 6 and finished February 11. Fans were allowed to vote up to once per hour per category.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring 'Sons of Anarchy' lead Charlie Hunnam, 'Pacific Rim' opened last summer to split critical reception. While a sequel was planned in case it exploded the box office, the film sadly underperformed in the US, though was popular overseas. 'Pacific Rim' saw an apocalyptic future where gargantuan monsters rise from the ocean to lay waste to humanity, whose only defense are an army of piloted robots called Jaegers.
