Paddington is back in the new trailer for his incredibly charming and very British sequel — well, mostly charming. Everyone’s favorite Marmalade-loving bear is pleasantly minding his own pleasant business when an evil actor (Hugh Grant; no, really) frames him for a crime he did not commit and it is decidedly very UNPLEASANT. Dastardly deeds aside, the trailer for Paddington 2 promises a sequel every bit as charming as its predecessor.

Just look at that cast: Sally Hawkins (charming!), Jim Broadbent (charming!), Ben Whishaw (charming! And his name sounds like an old timey British exclamation!), Julie Walters (charming!), Brendan Gleeson (charming when he’s not being scary!), and Peter Capaldi (same!).

Oh, and then there’s Hugh Grant, who appears to be playing a British version of Johnny Depp — an actor and “master of disguise” with an annoyingly quirky collection of accessories and coats. He is, as you might say, a right proper villain, who steals an expensive book and frames Paddington for the crime. Don’t worry, though: British prison also seems quite pleasant (and obviously modeled after The Grand Budapest Hotel?).

Here’s the official synopsis for Paddington 2, aka Paddington Goes to Prison:

The much-anticipated sequel to the worldwide hit family film finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, where he has become a popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief…

Paddington 2 arrives in U.K. theaters on November 10; it hits theaters in the U.S. on January 12, 2018.
