We're torn by what might be the coolest casting of the day.  Should the honor got to 'Torchwood' star John Barrowman for taking a role in The CW's 'Arrow' or Xena herself for Lucy Lawless' just-announced turn in 'Parks and Recreation' season 5?!  Chakram to our head, we've got to go with Lucy Lawless.  The also-'Spartacus' star has landed a multi-episode arc in Pawnee, Indiana, but who will the actress play?  Will Ron Swanson rise to the occasion?

According to TVLine, 'Spartacus' and 'Xena' star Lucy Lawless will put down the weaponry, but still kick ass with multi-episode appearance on 'Parks and Recreation' season 5!  The former warrior princess will portray Diane, a single mother of Pawnee whom Andy observes to share chemistry with the manliest of manly men Ron Swanson after the pair are dispatched to deal with a neighborhood issue.

All will be well of course, provided Lawless doesn't find herself imprisoned for another Greenpeace protest come shooting day.  The actress joins an already-impressive season which sees Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) working from Washington D.C. (with a few visits from Leslie Knope), mingling with the likes of U.S. Senators Barbara Boxer (California), Olympia Snowe (Maine) and even Arizona senator / former presidential candidate John McCain.

What say you?  Is even Ron Swanson man enough to handle Lucy Lawless's Diane?  Could a middle name of "Tammy" be kept under wraps?  'Parks and Recreation' season 5 debuts September 20, so in the meantime tell us what you're most excited to see in the comments!
