Insomniac's dynamic duo are coming back to the PlayStation 3 this holiday in a brand-new adventure dubbed Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus.

Ratchet and Clank will be back in a platforming adventure title for the first time since 2009's Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, and this new entry will serve as a direct epilogue to that previous sequel. Though a release date hasn't been nailed down just yet, Into the Nexus will only cost $29.99 when it arrives later this year (both digitally and at retail), and dwarfs the size of previous downloadable expansion, Quest for Booty.

There are plenty of new weapons and puzzles to solve, and as you can tell from the trailer above, the series' trademark humor is returning as well. More details on Into the Nexus will come throughout the rest of the year, but Sony is definitely showing it doesn't intend on stopping support for the PlayStation 3 with quality AAA titles. At least we'll have time to replay the original two PS3 games in time for the add-on.
