Over the summer, Daredevil Season 1 showrunner Steven DeKnight revealed that Rosario Dawson’s character on the series wasn’t allowed to go by the name Night Nurse because Marvel executives had plans for the character in a feature film — that film, as many speculated, is likely Doctor Strange, as Night Nurse has a history with the Sorcerer Supreme. And as it turns out, not only may that speculation have been quite correct, but this might be who Rachel McAdams is playing in the upcoming film.

When we reported on the possibility of Night Nurse’s inclusion in Doctor Strange back in July, we thought it quite possible that if the rumors were true, this could be Rachel McAdams’ part in the film opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. According to Latino Review, that’s absolutely the case.

If true, that’s great news for McAdams, who won’t be relegated to the role of mere love interest, but will actually be given some badass stuff of her own to do. Night Nurse had her own run of solo comics before she appeared in Brian Michael Bendis’ run of Daredevil. And in 2006, she was an integral part of Brian K. Vaughn’s Doctor Strange: The Oath series, the first issue of which is being reprinted later this month, seemingly supporting the theory that Night Nurse is appearing in the Doctor Strange film.

So far, Doctor Strange has accumulated an excellent lineup: in addition to Cumberbatch and McAdams, the film also boasts Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo. Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
