‘Sinister 2’ Teaser Wishes You a Very Scary Father’s Day

Father’s Day is tomorrow (oh, did you forget?), and in keeping with the holiday we have a new teaser from Sinister 2, which has some very messed up ideas about how you can celebrate this special day with your dad. You probably shouldn’t take its advice, though.

The new teaser for Sinister 2 is brief, but pretty effective, as we watch a little girl tell her father that she wants to do something special for him — while dragging a sledgehammer across the floor. It’s a chilling bit of imagery, and probably the most effective promotion we’ve seen from the upcoming sequel yet. Maybe don’t hurt your dad with a sledgehammer on Father’s Day, but feel free to buy him one if he needs it? I guess?

In the aftermath of the shocking events in ‘Sinister,’ a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of ‘Wayward Pines’) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity.

Returning for the sequel is James Ransone, who played Officer So-and-So in the first film. Sinister 2 hits theaters on August 21.
