Soderbergh’s ‘Girlfriend Experience’ TV Series Gets New NSFW Trailer

When trafficking in premium cable series about the exploration of escort culture, “NSFW” feels like a given. Still, with a name and pedigree like Steven Soderbergh or Starz’s The Girlfriend Experience TV adaptation, the series is expected to draw plenty of eyes. Before its big Sundance premiere, take a look at Riley Keough in The Girlfriend Experience with a brand-new trailer.

For those unaware of the adaptation, Starz’s “Anthology Series” The Girlfriend Experience follows Christine Reade (Riley Keough), a second year student at Chicago-Burnham Law School and a new intern at the prestigious firm of Kirkland & Allen.  Working hard to establish herself at the firm, her focus quickly shifts when a classmate introduces her to the world of transactional relationships. Known as GFEs, they are women who provide “The Girlfriend Experience”—emotional and sexual relationships at a very high price. Juggling two very different lives, Christine quickly finds herself drawn into the GFE world, attracted to the rush of control and intimacy.

The series also stars 24 alum Mary Lynn Rajskub, Boardwalk Empire breakout Paul Sparks, as well as House of Cards player Kate Lyn Sheil. Premiering in April 2016, the 13-episode series was co-created and written by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz, and executive produced by Steven Soderbergh, Philip Fleishman, Gary Marcus and Jeff Cuban.

The original film arrived in 2009, directed by Soderbergh and starring then-adult film actress Sasha Grey. All episodes of The Girlfriend Experience will arrive on April 10, but check out the latest trailers above and below.
