Marvel’s box office-shattering crossover has made the TV timelines even more complicated, and perhaps severed their connection the MCU. Maybe that’s a good thing.

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger took their sweet time setting an official 2018 premiere, but Freeform is finally starting to lift the veil. A trippy new trailer for the star-crossed superhero drama follows Tyrone and Tandy on opposite sides of the tracks and bound for WonderCon.

Freeform may have lost Marvel’s New Warriors, but Cloak & Dagger can still light the way. The ABC network’s take on one of Marvel’s most famous couples has officially set a June premiere, along with a new clip that provides our first look at Tyrone and Tandy’s meeting.

Just hours after Marvel clued us in on its next Freeform series, Cloak and Dagger pull a first trailer out of the darkness. Get a look at Marvel’s first non-ABC, non-Netflix TV drama, as Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen discover their unique powers.

Recent weeks have seen a strong push for Marvel to get its other TV projects off the ground, first casting its Freeform Cloak and Dagger, as well as progress on Hulu’s Runaways and ABC’s Inhumans, and that trend isn’t slowing down. Cloak and Dagger now fills out its full support cast, still likely eying a 2018 premiere.

At long last, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger series at Freeform is pulling back the cloak. The superhero series has officially cast its title characters, landing The Night Of alum Aubrey Joseph and Disney Channel vet Olivia Holt as Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen.

There’s been some back and forth on the status of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger series over at Freeform; last reported to be delayed until 2018. That said, the rumor mill has been pushing hard in recent weeks, setting both a possible pilot director and some potential leads, but more likely an overall shape to casting.

It’s been some time since we’ve had any update on the status of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger series over at Freeform, and perhaps with good reason. Reports confirm that the series has been pushed back to 2018, as the series’ official writer reworks the script.

Not content to launch new superhero properties on ABC or Netflix, Marvel is officially branching out to Freeform for a long-awaited debut. A Cloak and Dagger series is officially in the works, ordered to series at the former ABC Family for its title heroes.

The chances of you remembering the movie ‘Cloak & Dagger’ increase significantly if you were born between 1972 and 1976. On the surface, this seems like an oversimplified statement, simply because a lot of movies are like this. I’m sure there are others, but I was born in between 1972 and 1976, so this is a movie that is very much in my own personal zeitgeist, yet it's also one that gets the most amount of blank stares when referenced in front of other people who do not fit this age criteria.
