If ever we thought FOX’s Gotham too prequel-y, the idea of Syfy’s Krypton exploring Superman’s grandpappy seemed lightyears beyond. Literally! That said, the first trailer for the Goyer-produced Syfy Super-prequel is here, and it really doesn’t look half-bad!

Following an official pilot order for Syfy’s Krypton, a new report details everything from Superman’s grandfather, to Zod’s familial ties, and even a Legion of Superheroes connection.
However difficult a time Gotham has navigating early years of Batman mythology, Man of Steel writer David Goyer’s Syfy Krypton looks to skirt its Superman problem by going hundreds of years in the past. Goyer offered up a few new details of the tone and setting of the proposed pilot, potentially tying into the Man of Steel mythos as well.
