Eleven seasons in, Supernatural has explored its own iteration of almost every biblical mythology, even inventing its own. Its near-finale in the fifth season even hinted that one character was in fact the official “God,” a fan-favorite tease only somewhat revisited in the last few years, while Season 11's search for the Almighty himself may have a major break, now that Rob Benedict’s “Chuck” will return.

There’s no denying the surge in CW popularity over the last few years, with superhero series like Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow dominating weekdays, while Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend bring home Golden Globes. Still, the network remains relatively small against the big four, so might CW owners look toward yet another cord-cutter streaming service?

Where once upon a time, a proposed Supernatural spinoff might have signaled an end to the Winchester brothers’ CW adventures, here we are, kicking off Season 11. It’s a fine day to air on The CW, as the network’s TCA press tour panel brings some seriously good news.
