‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Reboot Has a Shredder
We've been wondering for a while who would be playing the iconic role of evil villain Shredder in the upcoming 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot, but it seems the role has belonged to William Fichtner for some time now.
In an interview with HuffPost TV in Canada, beloved weirdo actor William Fichtner finally revealed his role in the new 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie. We'd heard that the role he was playing was an "iconic" one, but now we have confirmation:
I play Shredder. It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, 'Really? Let me think about this for a minute.' [Laughs] Then I was like, 'Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.' I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it.
Fichtner stars alongside Megan Fox as April O'Neil, and Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, and Noel Fisher as the sewer-dwelling heroes. Will Arnett and Danny Woodburn also star in the film, which is being helmed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by action master Michael Bay. The film is a blend of CGI and live-action, though we're sure Shredder will definitely be the latter.
'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' is currently filming and will hit theaters on June 6, 2014.
