Just after the conclusion of E3, Naughty Dog will release the anticipated post-apocalyptic action game The Last of Us. Digital pre-orders for the new game opened yesterday on the PlayStation Network, revealing a season pass, and plans for three downloadable content packs.

The Last of Us will be out on June 14th, and will be another PSN Day 1 Digital Download. The game will be available at midnight that Friday, and you can even start playing once the game is just over half-way downloaded.

The biggest news though is Naughty Dog announced The Last of Us season pass yesterday, which will retail for $19.99. Included will be three DLC packs, which will be discounted 30 percent from the full retail cost. Two of the packs will feature multiplayer content, but the third add-on will be the developer's first single-player DLC. Few details were given about what to expect, but Naughty Dog did say the expansion "continues the themes, tone and tension" of the main story.

Season pass purchasers will also gain exclusive in-game bonuses. Available instantly on day one will be increased crafting and healing speed, increased 9mm reload speed, rifle clip capacity upgrade, and 'Grounded,' a 90-minute documentary on the making of The Last of Us. Not a bad bunch of extra abilities to gain by merely pre-paying for planned expansions.

Will you be pre-ordering The Last of Us and its season pass?
