Since leaving his post as the Governator of California, action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger has been returning to the world of movies with a vengeance. Check out Arnie in this new poster from his upcoming film 'The Last Stand.'

From Korean director Kim Jee-Woon (the outstanding 'I Saw the Devil'), 'The Last Stand' follows Sheriff Owens, a man living in the boring little town of Summerton Junction, where there's hardly any crime for him to clean up. Owens moved to the city after the failure of a massive operation in the LAPD left his former partner crippled and Owens saddled with guilt. Everything's been kind of quiet until an insane and over-the-top drug kingpin escapes from an FBI convoy and makes a run for the border in a specialty car going 200 mph, with a hostage in tow and his violent criminal cohorts close behind.

As it turns out, Summerton Junction is, well, the last stand to stop this crazy guy and his loyal band of psychos. At first, Sheriff Owens is reluctant, but when the FBI dismisses him based on his checkered past, he decides to step in and kick some ass to prove his worth.

If Kim Jee-Woon's previous films are any indication, 'The Last Stand' is going to be one hell of a thrill ride. The film hits theaters next January from Lionsgate and co-stars 'Friday Night Lights' alum Zach Gilford, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzman, Rodrigo Santoro, Johnny Knoxville, Peter Stormare, and Harry Dean Stanton. Forget 'The Expendables' -- now that's a cast.
