‘The Lone Ranger’ Trailer: Saddle Up, Kemosabe
Hey Kemosabe, the 'Lone Ranger' trailer is here and gives us our first look at Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger...and a lot of trains. So what do you think of Depp's Native American accent?
The HD 'Lone Ranger' trailer will debut later this morning but star Armie Hammer was a guest on 'The Tonight Show' and brought with him our first look at 'The Lone Ranger' [UPDATE: the hi-res 'Lone Ranger' trailer is now available and included below].
It's a teaser trailer in the truest sense of the word, especially in that we don't get a whole lot of Johnny Depp or actual plot. What we do get is a lot of trains, which appear to play a big part in the film. But this 'Lone Ranger' trailer does allow us to hear Johnny Depp's accent as Tonto and it's sure to be divisive. It's very stereotypical "injun"/"me smoke-um peace pipe" but Depp, who's part Native American, may argue that's how Tonto would've spoken.
