Dylan O'Brien has been slowly pulling ahead in the ranks of young celebrity stardom after landing his gig in MTV's 'Teen Wolf.' Now he'll be running through mazes in director's Wes Ball's adaptation of the 'Hunger Games'-esque 'The Maze Runner.'

This latest movie to come out of the Young Adult genre has been searching for its lead for some time, first adding such names as Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster in supporting roles. But the search is finally over as 20th Century Fox has chosen Dylan O'Brien as the lead, according to Deadline.

Based on the James Dashner novel of the same name, 'The Maze Runner' follows Thomas (O'Brien), a young boy who awakens in a strange community of boys known as "The Glade" with no prior memories except for his name. None of the boys know where they are or why they've been deposited there, and every 30 days somebody else is dropped in with them. The only chance they have of escaping is trying to maneuver through the vast maze that surrounds the Glade.

Aside from 'Teen Wolf,' O'Brien also starred in 'The First Time' along with Britt Robertson ('The Secret Circle,' 'Under the Dome'), and will be seen alongside Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in 'The Internship.'

'The Maze Runner' is currently set to hit theaters on February 14, 2014.
