This past weekend drew plenty of excitement from 'Walking Dead' fans, both from season 4 premiere "30 Days Without An Accident" and the New York Comic-Con panel, but one major announcement from the series elicited some seriously joyful profanity: Abraham! Following the surprise reveal that 'Southland' star Michael Cudlitz would take the iconic role in season 4, AMC released our first official photo of Sgt. Abraham Ford in action from the coming season.

Though those in attendance at the Comic-Con panel saw the reveal for themselves, as actor Michael Cudlitz unmasked from the audience in full costume, and menacingly approached the stage, but the actor also tweeted out a photo of Sgt. Abraham Ford in action for those unable to attend. It remains to be seen exactly when Abraham will pop up within the narrative, presumably alongside comic companions Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), but most estimates have placed the trio around midseason.

“I was laying low because [Abraham has] a very iconic look,” Cudlitz told TVLine of keeping the character's appearance under wraps for the past few months. “It would be very easy for somebody to put the pieces together if they saw me strolling around [near the show's set.] So I was staying very close to the hotel. And I didn’t hang out with any of the other castmembers.”

Elsewhere, season 4 of the AMC horror-drama has already introduced ‘The Wire’ star Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. as comic character Bob Stookey, is soon to feature Alanna Masterson as a new mystery character, and has upgraded actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney to series regulars. The returning David Morrissey’s villainous Governor has been upgraded to series regular, as well, though beyond this season his involvement seems unlikely.

Well, what are you waiting for? Get your first look at Michael Cudlitz in action as Abraham in the photo below, and tell us what you're most excited for about 'The Walking Dead' season 4 in the comments!
