We're just days away from Comic-Con 2013 and the premiere of 'The Walking Dead' season 4 trailer, and so far we've heard both series creator Robert Kirkman and new showrunner Scott Gimple tease the coming year for AMC's smash horror-drama. Now, a new Alex Ross poster, and photos have emerged to tease the coming trailer, while future character and spoiler-y details have come to light as well!

Among the new photos, a quick look into Glenn and Maggie's relationship from TVGuide shows that the couple will have some differences of opinion in the coming year, notably that Glenn attempts to protect Maggie from harm in ways she doesn't believe she needs. The second new photo shows off the latest walker design for season 4, which has become increasingly gruesome and gaunt over the course of the series, while the gorgeous Comic-Con poster from revered comic artist Alex Ross shows off the increased focus of the walkers in season 4.

So while we have an inkling what Rick, Michonne, Glenn and Maggie will be up to in the coming season, what of the new characters joining the series? Speaking to TVGuide, Robert Kirkman previewed that new cast addition Bob Stookey ('The Wire' star Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) will indeed appear among the prison influx from Woodbury, rather than encounter the Governor as his comic character was known for.

Some time has passed and there are new groups and new characters that have come into the prison over the month in the gap. There are some characters, like Bob Stookey, who aren't very capable or very useful, and then there are other characters like Tyrese and Sasha who are stepping up in a big way.

Karen, another character that came from Woodbury, is very essential to this season. There is a lot of new blood and a lot of new faces. The cast really expanded, which usually happens at the beginning of every season and it contracts a little by the end. This season will be very in line with that.

While we wait for the first season 4 trailer from Comic-Con 2013, the next run of ‘The Walking Dead’ will upgrade actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney to series regulars, while AMC earlier confirmed that David Morrissey’s villainous Governor would also return in season 4 as a series regular.
