Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 will diverge from its predecessors without a direct tie-in to Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, but a new synopsis for the May 10 outing may tip the scales for Iron Man or Captain America. Will Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. be registering its Inhumans in the wake of Marvel’s biggest cinematic showdown?

Take this all with a grain of salt for now, but if Captain America: Civil War really does end with either Tony or Steve getting their way, the latest Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. synopsis may be leaning a bit toward #TeamIronMan. The May 10 outing “Emancipation” (Civil War hits theaters on May 6) teases some pressure on Coulson and the team, perhaps because of certain Sokovia Accords:

In the aftermath of the events of Captain America: Civil War, S.H.I.E.L.D. feels pressure to reveal their involvement with Inhumans. But with the stakes higher than ever and Hive growing stronger, the team is tested in ways they could never anticipate.

Certain rumors about Civil War could also put Coulson in a notably dour mood, though that hasn’t stopped Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from also planning through a May 17 finale, now scheduled for two hours.

In the meantime, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return this Tuesday with “Spacetime,” while Civil War hits theaters on May 6. Will Iron Man’s interest in registration prevail?
