For as much as Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' has undergone a dramatic uptick in quality, aided by the game-changing events of 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' we've wondered when ABC might formally announce a season 2 pickup, or at least progress on the proposed 'Agent Carter' series. Now, in lieu of an official confirmation, new reports suggest 'Agent Carter' might go to series with an airdate between 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2.

Via Deadline, word has it that 'Agent Carter' might forgo the pilot stage and end up straight to series, considering how ABC president Paul Lee previously expressed his approval of the script. Star Hayley Atwell's option for the one-shot has since lapsed, though a pickup for 'Agent Carter' could potentially arrive simultaneous to 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 2, the expectation being that 'Agent Carter' fills in the fall and spring hiatus for 'S.H.I.E.L.D.,' as had originally been intended for 'Once Upon a Time' and its 'Wonderland' spinoff.

It certainly fits, as we'd previously heard that 'Agent Carter' might take the limited series approach of 13-episodes, with any subsequent seasons leaping forward to another year in Peggy's pre-S.H.I.E.L.D. founding spy work. We've also heard from ABC that ‘Reaper’ creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas had boarded the ‘Agent Carter’ TV series to act as showrunners, despite already acting as such for ABC’s ‘Resurrection.’

We expect to hear within the next few weeks if Marvel and ABC venture on a second season for 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' or a pickup for 'Agent Carter,' but what do you think? Would the two series complement one another, or should Marvel cut their losses? Tell us what you want to see from either of the TV 'Agents' in the comments!
