Comedian Tig Notaro has been making plenty of headlines of late, and isn’t about to stop at a new HBO special or Netflix documentary. Instead, the revered cancer-surviving comedian will partner with Diablo Cody to star in and write a new Amazon comedy pilot, produced by Louis C.K.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the as-yet-untitled single-camera comedy will explore a semi-autobiographical approach to Notaro’s life, and has landed a pilot order at Amazon, having apparently moved from a script deal at FX. Notaro will star and co-write with Diablo Cody, while both will executive produce with Louis C.K., under the FX-based Pig Newton.

So reads the official synopsis:

Tig Notaro has just recovered from an abdominal disease that has left her gaunt, wasted, exhausted and pretty much stripped of everything except her finely honed sense of the absurd. Abruptly summoned home to Pass Christian, Miss., to take her ailing mother off life support, Tig finds herself dealing with her clingy girlfriend, her dysfunctional Gulf Coast family and the loss of the one person who held everything together.

Considering all the talent involved, it’s hard to imagine Amazon passing this one up, but will Tig Notaro’s next medium to conquer be TV? Or, at least streaming TV?
