They're going to need a bigger asylum!  Months ago, all the buzz about 'American Horror Story's second season came from the fact that Ryan Murphy would pick and choose stars from the first season to line his all new horror-tale, before finally revealing who would join 'American Horror Story: Asylum.'  Well, there's always room for one more!  So who's the latest alum to sign up for season 2, and what does their casting say about Murphy's "no supernatural" rule?

Thanks to TVLine, we now know that 'American Horror Story: Asylum' has added yet another season 1 star to its ranks, following Zachary Quinto, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and of course season 2 star Jessica Lange.  Ryan Murphy himself first tweeted out the news that now 'American Horror Story' Frances Conroy will join the cast for season 2 as well, portraying "The Ultimate Angel."

We know what you're thinking...huh?

Murphy's tweet also revealed that 'American Horror Story: Asylum' would involve "devils and angels," which seemingly conflicts with his earlier assertion that season 2 would involve the "real-life horrors" of its 1960's asylum setting.  Granted, we also recently learned that genetic experiments and aliens might be thrown into the mix as well, and it wouldn't be the first time we've seen Ryan Murphy change his mind

Joining her fellow season 1 cast members, Conroy was best remembered as Moira, the ghostly maid of the Harmon family's supernatural home, who appeared as her younger self (Alexandra Breckinridge) in the company of Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott).  It remains unknown how many episodes Conroy will stick around, or how far into the season she'll appear.

Apart from the veterans, 'American Horror Story: Asylum' adds new series stars Franka Potente, ‘The Voice‘ judge and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, ‘Step Up’s Jenna Dewan,‘Carnivale’ star Clea DuVall, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ star Chris Zylka, Americanized ‘Skins’ star Britne Oldford, ‘Big Love’s Chloe Sevigny, French actress Lizzie Brochere, Joseph Fiennes and James Cromwell.

'American Horror Story: Asylum' premiers on FX Wednesday, October 14.
