Last year, Disney announced development on its first animated Marvel feature film, 'Big Hero 6,' though after the studio debuted the first concept trailer and images at last year's D23 Expo, we had still yet to learn of any voice cast additions. That all changes as stand-up comic and 'Cloverfield' star T.J. Miller becomes the first actor to land a role in the film.

Since Miller emerged from behind that hand-held camera in 'Cloverfield,' he's been landing more high-profile gigs, like opposite Mark Wahlberg in 'Transformers 4,' in Mike Judge's HBO tech comedy 'Silicon Valley,' and leading the cast of the upcoming comedy 'Search Party.' And now he gets to play a Marvel hero!

Though he mentioned his involvement in an earlier interview, Rotoscopers reports that he'll take the role of Fred, who we learned from the D23 Expo presentation to be a fanboy whose comic book knowledge is vital to the team’s mission, though he later mutates into a “friendly monster." Miller confirmed the casting over Twitter, but has since deleted the tweet.

Though there is still plenty more information to be gleaned, Disney describes the film as such:

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes 'Big Hero 6,' an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city.

Other characters we learned of are GoGo Tomago (described as a daredevil bike messenger), Wasabi-No Ginger (with a particularly sharp weapon in his arsenal) and Honey Lemon (part-time barista and brainiac chemist).

'Big Hero 6' is directed Don Hall and Chris Williams, the former saying earlier how he "was looking for something on the obscure side" when deciding on source material. We're ready to learn more as we get closer to the film's release on November 17, 2014.
