As Jon Stewart winds down his tenure on The Daily Show, more and more names have emerged from Comedy Central shortlists ahead of Trevor Noah. Red-hot comedienne and perfect human Amy Schumer seems also to have been offered the gig, though the Trainwreck star declined a “safe” option for her blossoming career.

Much as Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler have gone on to kill it in Late Night and Inside Out respectively, the SNL fan in all of us will always miss their Weekend Update banter. Now, our own inner Joy can howl with delight, as the pair reunited on Late Night for a new incarnation of fan-favorite "Really!?!"

We don’t yet have a clear sense of what The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will look like, and while we’ve heard a few big names suggested prior, our future Daily Show almost looked very different. Not only did the inimitable Amy Poehler (briefly) consider an offer to host, but so too did Chris Rock apparently mull over taking the chair for a time.

Stephen Colbert has begun rolling out his Late Show tenure slowly as leadup to the September 8 premiere, but on a week where eternal punchline Donald Trump at last announces an official bid for the presidency, any late-night host worth their salt would hit the gas. Last night was the final episode of The Late Show With David Letterman. Unlike many televised goodbyes, it was not overly-sentimental, nor was it overly-congratulatory. Yet, watching it from home, it was hard not to feel both emotional as Letterman said goodbye and thankful for everything he has brought us over the years...
