Marvel may not have brought any movies to Comic-Con 2015, but the Agents were out in full force as both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Peggy Carter took the stage at Ballroom 20 to preview their new seasons. S.H.I.E.L.D. opened up the Secret Warriors vault, while Agent Carter prepped for L.A., and our full panel report has the scoop!

  • Jeph Loeb opened the panel wearing Peggy’s signature red hat, before Hayley Atwell herself came out to reclaim it. S.H.I.E.L.D. even pulled a similar gag later, with Clark Gregg coming out to retrieve a prop hand from the Marvel TV head.

  • Good news, music lovers! Both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter will have soundtrack releases this fall, presumably tied to, or around the Agents premiere.

  • James D’Arcy (Jarvis) spoke to having a few reservations about taking the role, joking that he’d only get to cook soufflés rather than fight with Peggy, though mostly he was impressed with how well Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters were able to capture period dialogue for two English leads.

  • When asked by a fan, Hayley Atwell corroborated that Peggy made the right call in dumping Steve’s blood off the Brooklyn Bridge, believing the better way to honor his memory was through her work.

  • Confirmed for 10 episodes, Season 2 will pick up six months after the first year, with Peggy called to Hollywood to investigate a murder. Jarvis is already out there doing work for Howard (and apparently starting a movie studio), though no word on Dominic Cooper’s explicit return just yet. Michele and Tara spoke to the intrigue of the Black Dahlia murder and the glamour of Hollywood, though that won’t necessarily be the case Peggy answers.

  • We may at last meet Jarvis’ wife! As for Peggy’s new romantic interests, Tara Butters assured fans that Peggy would have some “new opportunities” after finally letting go of Steve, where Michele Fazekas’ response was…let’s say, more of the Jeremy Renner variety.

Onto Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

  • Nearly the entire Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast was present, including all our newly-elevated newbie regulars, though Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen sent in a video of themselves working on new Season 3 ideas from the writers’ room. But more on that later...

  • Jeph Loeb confirms that “Skye” shall henceforth be known by her proper name of “Daisy Johnson,” the video later showing a Skye Jar for anyone who accidentally uses the S-word.

  • Great bloopers to be included on the Season 2 release, with plenty of dancing, baton drops, Edward James Olmos’ love of Santana, Clark scaring Chloe with a clown mask, and more.

  • When asked what they’d learned from working on the series, Luke Mitchell answered “Chloe is crazy,” something Clark Gregg corroborated. Nick Blood mentioned standing on his toes with Henry Simmons and Adrianne Palicki, while Elizabeth Henstridge noted all the medical jargon she’d never understand in her lifetime.

  • Also, in response to questions of their favorite Marvel characters, Clark Gregg exclaimed “Daniel Rand! Iron Fist!” We’ve heard of Marvel’s slow roll to get the Netflix series going, but if ever a Marvel superhero should cross to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we know Clark Gregg’s vote.

  • The Tancharoen-Whedon video featured the showrunners spitballing new ideas for Season 3, eventually landing on the name “Secret Warriors,” and Quake for Daisy. Again, not Skye. Daisy. We saw a few concept designs of a new plane for the team (RIP The Bus), named the “Zephyr One.”

  • The pair also jokingly threw darts on a board of who to kill. Henstridge later voiced her distress that Simmons was “really dead,” while B.J. Britt popped by to aid with the slaughter. Time will tell if Trip could return as B.J. joked, though confirmed for Season 3’s Secret Warriors roster is Marvel character Lash. “He’s big, he’s huge,” said Jeph Loeb.

Premiering September 29, we know of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 that series regulars Adrianne Palicki (Mockingbird) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter) will return, ABC having abandoned plans for a spinoff centered around the pair, while Henry Simmons (Mack) and Luke Mitchell (Lincoln) have both been upgraded to series regular. The series will presumably also help build up to Captain America: Civil War, while installing its own version of Marvel’s Secret Warriors.

Meanwhile, of Agent Carter Season 2, Hayley Atwell previously teased we’d likely see more of Peggy’s lighter side, having let go of Steve Rogers in Season 1. Thus far, James D’Arcy and Enver Gjokaj have been confirmed to return as Jarvis and Daniel Sousa, while Dominic Cooper’s Howard Stark and Chad Michael Murray’s Jack Thompson have also been suggested.

We’ll have more on Marvel’s Agents to come, but who has the more exciting future, S.H.I.E.L.D. or Peggy Carter?
