We've still got a bit of time before the upcoming fourth and first Harmon-free season of NBC's 'Community,' but that doesn't mean there aren't burning mysteries to explore!  We know that a few new friends will join the Greendale Gang for the upcoming 13-episode run, the real question remains, will Jeff Winger find his real father?  Well, found him he has, and it's the legendary James Brolin!

Well, we knew Jeff Winger's dad had to have a pretty handsome mug himself.  As 'Community' gears up for season 4, set to debut on Friday, October 19, the critically-acclaimed comedy has nabbed itself some serious star power in casting Jeff Winger's dad, James Brolin!  TVLine was first to report the casting, implied by Joel McHale via Twitter earlier this week, though NBC has yet to make any confirmations.

The news comes after three seasons of teasing the identity of Jeff's father, though it wasn't until season 3 finale "Introduction to Finality" that the character decided to officially begin the search for his long-lost dad.  Reports indicate that Brolin will make his appearance around 'Community's Thanksgiving episode, "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations."

Brolin's casting adds to a star-studded fourth season, which already includes 'Battlestar Galactica' vet Tricia Helfer, ‘Bridesmaids’ star Matt Lucas, and  UK thespian Malcolm McDowell as the gang’s new history professor, one we maintain still bares a rather curious resemblance to Joel McHale.

What say you?  Do you think James Brolin will play the elder Winger after all, or are we being led around by the nose?  Take a look at the on-set photo below, and be sure to check out the fourth season of 'Community' when it premieres on Friday, October 19!
