‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ Season 2 and Michael Bay’s ‘Black Sails’ Get New Starz Trailers
For as much as we still miss the days of 'Spartacus,' the many goodies to emerge from the ongoing New York Comic-Con have seen Starz giving rise to two new trailers; not only do we have our best look yet at Michael Bay pirate drama 'Black Sails,' but also a new full-length trailer for 'Da Vinci's Demons' season 2!
There's quite a bit to take in among the two trailers, though it's clear that the second season of 'Da Vinci's Demons' will span an intriguing length of time and distance, taking the famed inventor all the way to South America in his quest. Starz also offered up a full-length press release for the 2014 return:
Season two of “Da Vinci’s Demons” finds Florence thrown into chaos in the wake of the Pazzi conspiracy and Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley) must push the limits of his mind and body to defend the city against the forces of Rome. While the Medicis go to unthinkable lengths to deal with new threats, da Vinci continues on his quest to find the fabled Book of Leaves and uncover the secret history of his mother. He'll come to realize that he has lethal competition in his quest -- new enemies who may be even worse than the forces of Pope Sixtus. His search will take him to faraway lands and force him to reevaluate everything he knew about the world and his own history.
‘Black Sails’ comes from ‘Jericho‘ creator Jon Steinberg, and stars ‘Die Another Day’ villain Toby Stephens as the iconic Captain Flint and ‘Shameless‘ vet Zach McGowan as Captain Charles Vane. It centers on the tales of Flint and his men 20 years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s 'Treasure Island' novel. Already renewed for season 2, 'Black Sails' sees Flint take on his crew the fast-talking John Silver (Luke Arnold) as they fight for the survival of New Providence Island, a criminal haven full of pirates, prostitutes and thieves, defined by ideals and brutality.
