Never in a million years did we think we’d be excited for a Deadpool solo movie — not after what they did to the character in the horrible misstep that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine (#neverforget). But here we are, years later, with Ryan Reynolds back to properly bring his charisma to the Merc With a Mouth, who will actually have a (masked) mouth this time around. After giving us our first look at Reynolds in full Deadpool costume a couple of days ago, Fox has officially revealed the logo for the upcoming X-Men spinoff film.

Combined with the first look at Reynolds in costume, the official logo (via Collider) really sets the tone for the Deadpool solo adventure:

Thanks to leaked test footage from last year, along with Reynolds’ relentless campaign to revive the character and give him a proper outing, Deadpool is in production with plans to hit theaters next year. In addition to Reynolds, Deadpool stars Homeland’s Morena Baccarin as Copycat, Gina Carano as Angel Dust and T.J. Miller as Weasel. With Miller involved, you really get a sense of the levity the film will offer, which is appropriate given Deadpool’s penchant for one-liners. They don’t call him the Merc With a Mouth for nothing.

Tim Miller, who was also responsible for last year’s leaked footage, is directing Deadpool, which is set for release on February 12, 2016.
